Hair System Subscription or Purchase: What Adds Up
The short answer. A subscription looks cheap thanks to low monthly instalments, but it costs permanently. At an instalment of 75 € that is 900 € a year, year after year, with a contract commitment and without ownership. With a purchase you pay 599 € to 689 € once, you own your system and you decide anew every month how much service you want. Over twelve months the purchase almost always wins. Full transparency first: we sell systems and deliberately do not offer a subscription. The plain arithmetic shows best why.
The twelve-month calculation
The subscription route. An instalment of, say, 75 € comes to 900 € in the first year, the same 900 € in the second and in the third. Depending on the provider there is also a deposit, a setup fee or surcharges for fitting, so the advertised bargain quickly becomes a system that has cost around 1,000 € in the first year. Cancelling? Mind the minimum term.
The purchase route with us. Two systems with a quantity discount, a care box at the system purchase price, and a mix of self-changing and studio service. The first year comes to about 2,100 € including everything, and from the second year clearly below that, because only consumables and occasional service remain, while the subscription simply carries on.
What the calculation does not show: control
The real difference is not the euro amount but who decides. In a subscription the contract sets your rhythm, your products and your commitment. With a purchase you set them: more service in stressful months, self-changing when things run smoothly, a pause or a change of provider at any time without notice periods. A hair system is a very personal thing, and control over it should be yours.
When a subscription can still suit
The honest answer: if you absolutely do not want to shoulder an initial investment and a contract commitment does not bother you, a subscription is a workable way in. But calculate two things beforehand. First, the total cost over twelve and over twenty-four months. Second, what happens when you cancel, because usually you return the system and are back at zero.
With us, incidentally, flexible payment through Klarna serves the same purpose as a subscription entry, and Klarna shows you the available options directly at checkout. The difference is that the system belongs to you afterwards.
Common questions
Why do you not offer a subscription?
Because our business model is built on satisfied returning customers rather than on contract commitments. Anyone who wants to stay, stays. Anyone who wants to leave should be able to.
Is Klarna not a kind of subscription too?
No, it is a time-limited instalment payment on a purchase. After the last instalment it ends, and the system is yours.
