The grey portion
Your grey portion increases, slowly and without you noticing daily. A system that matched exactly a year ago is a shade too dark today, because the system hair does not go grey with you. We match the colour again for every new system.
How we match
We hold several systems in similar shades against your hair and look at them in daylight, not under studio light. Often it comes down to nuances you can barely name individually. Those are exactly what make the difference.

131 shades across all three bases, more than 1,000 systems in total. 96 percent of our customers find their match without waiting for production.
What a colour code tells you
Codes run from 1 for black up into the 1700s, and the final digits mark the grey portion. HG stands for highlight grey, a lighter and more visible grey. The codes help us find candidates; they never replace holding the hair against yours.
If your colour is not in stock
Ninety-six percent of customers find their match from stock. For the rest we order, and that takes four to six weeks. We tell you at the consultation which case you are, before you decide anything.
